Job summary

Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority seeks a professional to assist the Project Manager in coordinating with the Resident Engineer and project staff on design and construction activities using the MBTA PMIS system (e-Builder).

This role includes duties across multiple departments and requires flexibility to work at various locations and shifts while ensuring safety, cost and schedule requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• 0 to 3 years of engineering design, architecture design, and/or construction experience.
• Effective organizational, multitasking, time management and interpersonal skill.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Database applications.
• Ability to communicate with regulatory agencies, community organizations and others on technical and sensitive matters.
• The ability to complete all required Authority training.
• Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills.
• The ability to work any and all shifts and/or locations as assigned or directed.
• A valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing consultant and construction contracts to ensure project and program requirements are fulfilled, and that project safety, safety, contract cost and project schedule requirements are met.
• Acting on behalf of project manager in their absence or as assigned by project director or senior director.
• Assist in managing projects in accordance with MBTA manuals and directives.
• Assist in developing project scopes, budgets, and schedules as part of the capital planning and delivery process.
• Assist in coordinating with municipal officials, public, and other outside parties for projects that require collaboration and delivery.
• Assist in the procurement of consultants and contractors.
• Assist in the review of monthly payment and schedule submissions from consultants and contractors.
• Assist in the management of Project Design Group meetings, value engineering sessions, constructability reviews and risk workshops.
• Manage project tasks with other Departments and outside agencies as required.
• Prepare project related correspondence, reports, charts, and presentations for senior management and others.
