Job summary

PPG is seeking a Production & Materials Planning Specialist to join our Sylmar, CA manufacturing team onsite. You will balance customer demand with plant capacity, drive material flow, and optimize production schedules to ensure on-time delivery.

You will use ERP/MRP tools, advanced Excel, and KPI dashboards to translate complex data into actionable insights, supporting continuous improvement and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in production planning, materials control, or scheduling in manufacturing or aerospace.
• Advanced ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel are mandatory.
• Demonstrated Lean Six Sigma/Kaizen experience and supplier relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Generate, prioritize, and release Work Orders aligned with MPS and demand forecasts.
• Develop detailed production schedules to optimize machine utilization and on-time delivery.
• Monitor plant capacity and equipment constraints to balance workload.
• Run MRP reports to identify shortages, buffer stock, and replenishment needs.
• Create, issue, and manage POs for raw materials and components.
