Job summary

3M is seeking a Production Planning Analyst for on-site work at the 3M Center. You will collaborate with global teams to schedule, manage inventory, plan orders, and maintain supplier communications while driving service levels and inventory targets.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, data-driven analysis, and use of SAP and other SC tools. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree to be completed within 12 months of hire date.
• Three (3) combined years of experience in supply chain planning, logistics, and/or manufacturing in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain, Operations Management, and/or Business Administration from an accredited university.
• 5 years of experience leading and/or participating on cross functional teams.
• APICS certification or demonstrated progress toward completion.
• Experience leading Six Sigma Green Belt and/or other projects.
• Experience with Manufacturing planning software.
• Excellent written & oral communication skills; good presentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to influence others and work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrating a high level of service and customer satisfaction via effective scheduling, inventory management, order planning and processing, SKU data management, backorder prevention, and maintaining supplier communication.
• Analyzing and managing working and non-working inventories in assigned businesses to maintain compliance and achieve inventory investment targets.
• Publishing and presenting service and inventory metrics, results, and gap analysis.
• Monitoring and reporting capacity requirements.
• Analyzing material flow parameters such as lot size, making cycle frequency, replenishment interval, min/max, safety stock, and managing all supply chain sku data.
• Utilizing Supply Chain tools and processes such as Factory Planner, COMS, GGSM, GDMR, IMES, Invento, Peoplesoft, Reporting and Analytics, BI, MS Office, SAP.
• Utilizing Continuous Improvement/Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify and improve supply chain speed; Leading cross-functional Green Belt projects and implement process improvement projects; Reviewing and reporting on project progress.
