Job summary

3M in Menomonie, WI is seeking a Production Planning Analyst to coordinate production planning and scheduling, optimize inventory, and support timely customer fulfillment. You will work with manufacturing, lean, and supply planners to balance service levels and cost while improving efficiency.

This on-site role involves collaboration across teams, data-driven analysis, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Two (2) years of combined experience in planning, inventory control or supply chain in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing setting in a private, public, government or military environment.
• APICS certification, or demonstrated progress toward completion.
• Experience with Factory Planner or another MRP or ERP application.
• Knowledge of Supply Planning (SP), Demand Planning (DP), and IBP processes.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel).
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule production work centers and monitor output to meet customer requirements.
• Procure material and communicate with suppliers for future requirements.
• Collaborate with Production Planning, Lean Value Stream, and Operations teams.
• Balance service, inventory, and cost to meet targets with manufacturing teams and supply planners.
• Manage production lot sizes, cycles, and safety stocks.
• Identify and escalate production constraints and manage capacity.
• Maintain assigned inventories to meet compliance and investment targets.
• Execute production planning standard work using supply chain tools and IT systems.
• Provide planning analysis to support data-driven decisions.
• Lead Continuous Improvement projects for service, inventory, and efficiency.
