Job summary

3M Knoxville, IA is seeking a Production Planning Analyst to plan and schedule production work centers, monitor output, and balance service, inventory, and cost to meet customer targets.

You will collaborate with the Lean Value Stream, Operations and Supply Planners, using SAP ERP and advanced MS Office tools to drive data‑driven decisions. This on-site role may involve travel and requires strong communication and cross‑functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
• One year of experience in Supply Chain and/or Logistics in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Two years combined experience in supply chain, planning, logistics, and/or manufacturing.
• ASCM (APICS) CPIM certification is preferred. If not complete at the time this position is assumed, the certification will become part of the employee development plan.
• Experience with SAP ERP Software.
• 3M systems experience (Factory Planner, PMCS/IMES, Peoplesoft).
• Experience in Production Planning.
• Knowledge of SP, DP, and IBP processes.
• Strong data mining, data analysis, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Suite experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal and self-motivational skills.
• Experience working on cross-functional teams.
• Experience utilizing Lean and Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule production work centers, monitor output to meet customer requirements and improve efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with Production Planning, Lean Value Stream, and Operations teams and participate in the Tier process.
• Collaborate with business to understand customer requirements and forecasts, and with Supply Planners to balance service, inventory and cost.
• Manage production lot sizes, cycles and safety stocks to balance inventory and service.
• Oversee capacity, resolve constraints and manage inventories to meet investment targets.
• Execute production planning standard work using supply chain tools and IT systems; provide planning analysis for data-driven decisions.
• Identify and participate in Continuous Improvement projects to improve service, inventory, flow, and efficiency.
