Job summary

GenScript, located in Piscataway, NJ, is seeking a Specialist – Procurement/Purchasing to manage end-to-end source-to-pay and procure-to-pay activities across services, CAPEX, and construction. You will negotiate pricing, manage vendor relationships, and drive cost-saving initiatives while ensuring compliance with company policies.

The role reports to the Senior Procurement Manager and requires 1–3 years in procurement with strong negotiation and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of procurement experience, indirect or direct materials.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Project management skills; experience in procurement for construction is a plus.
• Ability to navigate a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Manage source-to-pay and procure-to-pay cycles, including RFx, contracts, PO review/execution, and invoice coordination.
• Conduct sourcing requests, prepare price comparisons, and complete RFx activities per policy.
• Accountable for KPIs related to cost savings, service levels, and on-time payment SLAs.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, contracts, and long-term supplier agreements to drive value.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through price comparisons, negotiations, and demand consolidation.
• Coordinate with end users to complete acceptance and ensure timely payments per terms.
• Create new material codes, onboard vendors, and review contracts in CMS.
• Serve as primary contact for vendors and Legal in reviewing agreements and SOWs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide procurement support and best practices.
• Lead procurement process trainings for end users.
