Job summary

FIT Staffing is seeking an experienced Procurement and Contracts Manager to join our team in Massachusetts. The role focuses on managing contracts across the full procurement lifecycle, developing RFPs, and ensuring compliance with Massachusetts public purchasing laws.

The successful candidate will build strong supplier relationships, support member organizations, and drive data-driven improvements while delivering high-quality service in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, business, finance, or related field.
  • MCPPO certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of public procurement experience in municipal/government/public sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Massachusetts procurement laws and municipal finance practices.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong technology skills, including Microsoft Office and database tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred.

Responsibilities

Our client is seeking an experienced Procurement and Contracts Manager to join their team and support a large member community across New England. This is a strong opportunity for someone with deep experience in public or municipal procurement who enjoys building supplier relationships, managing complex contract portfolios, and delivering high-level customer service in a collaborative, results-driven environment.

This role will manage contracts through the full procurement lifecycle, support supplier and member relationships, and help identify opportunities to strengthen offerings based on purchasing needs and spend patterns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of contracts through the full public procurement lifecycle
  • Develop and oversee RFPs, bid openings, evaluations, and contract awards
  • Ensure all procurement activity is compliant with Massachusetts public purchasing laws, including M.G.L. c. 30B, 30/39M, and 149
  • Monitor supplier and contract performance and use data to recommend improvements and guide business decisions
  • Partner internally to identify opportunities to expand contract portfolios in alignment with member needs and buying trends
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, members, and internal stakeholders
  • Serve as a liaison to suppliers to help ensure goods and services are delivered on time and in compliance with contract terms
