Job summary

Beacon Communities LLC seeks a Director of Procurement in Boston, MA to lead enterprise-wide procurement strategy and vendor management. This role partners with Property Operations, Facilities, and Legal to drive cost-saving, compliant sourcing across the portfolio.

The position reports to the EVP of Property Operations and oversees procurement staff, with an exempt FLSA status and local travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality/Real Estate Management or a related field required.
• Six (6) or more years of progressive procurement experience within multi-family housing, real estate or similar field.
• Strong negotiation, contract management, analytical, and communication skills.
• Mastery of residential procurement platforms. CPSM or CPP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements enterprise-wide procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and budgets.
• Establishes and maintains procurement strategies, policies, and best practices to optimize cost savings and operational efficiency.
• Serves as the organization’s subject matter expert on procurement standards and sourcing strategy.
• Collaborate with operations, development and maintenance teams to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
• Stay abreast of market trends, economic factors and regulatory changes that may impact procurement.
• Collaborate with Property Management, facilities and other internal stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and negotiate portfolio-wide contracts with suppliers.
• Create KPIs to monitor vendor performance.
• Oversee vendor onboarding and renewal processes.
• Analyze historical spending data to identify maverick spending and leverage bulk purchasing power to improve NOI.
• Lead and support the implementation of a procurement platform for controlled purchasing, vendor oversight, spend transparency, and timely payment.
