Job summary

Envision is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead strategic sourcing for raw materials and services, oversee the Purchasing Department, and drive cost efficiency. You will supervise staff, negotiate contracts, manage vendor performance, and implement analytical methods to optimize procurement and sales.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in purchasing, strong Excel/database skills, and experience with government contracting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred; however, a combination of education and experience where skills demonstrate capability is acceptable.
• Minimum of 5 years previous experience in purchasing and/or government sales with emphasis on government contracting preferred.
• Two years supervisory experience required.
• Data analysis experience required.
• Advanced Excel and database experience required; cost accounting/EDI experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment of strategic collaboration with suppliers.
• Implement MRP tools and reporting structure.
• Ensure supplier risk is proactively understood through continuous evaluation and reporting to vendors.
• Guide team to ensure continual analysis of efficient ordering, vendor performance and pricing for best-in-class procurement.
• Evaluate and manage performance of direct reports; provide coaching and training.
• Translate product and business requirements into detailed specifications for manufacturing operations.
• Develop RFP process for new opportunities and suppliers.
• Supervise direct reports in contract terms negotiation and data analysis; negotiate prices to maintain margins.
• Develop and improve purchasing procedures and policies; communicate to departments, vendors and staff.
• Maintain professionalism and ethical behavior in interactions with customers.
• Assist Accounting with invoice discrepancies and collections.
• Perform procurement support using innovative techniques; analyze data to identify cost savings opportunities.
• Evaluate usage patterns with sales forecasts to establish reorder points; provide forecast information to leadership and suppliers.
• Resolve pricing, quality, quantity and freight discrepancies; monitor discrepancies.
