Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's Wireless Networking and Communications Group seeks a Procurement and Events Coordinator to manage purchasing, procurement, inventory, and events for a multi-million-dollar research center on UT's main campus.

You will coordinate vendor relations, contracts, and center communications, support faculty and staff with logistics, and ensure compliance with university and state rules while delivering accurate financial documentation and timely event execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or related area.
• At least 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, events, or program coordination.
• Experience with event logistics, vendor relations, and stakeholder engagement.
• Knowledge of purchasing processes and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute research center and faculty purchasing, including bid processes and procurement documentation.
• Coordinate major center events, meetings, seminars, and affiliate programs with planning, logistics, and vendor relations.
• Administer procurement card program, maintain financial documentation, and resolve issues with vendors and offices.
• Manage contract lifecycles, competitive solicitations, and event-related costs.
• Administer inventory control, asset tracking, and equipment lifecycle within the center.
• Develop and execute event-related communications, including newsletters and invitations.
• Collaborate across teams to optimize operational processes and documentation.
• Support facilities, storerooms, mail, and access coordination as needed.
