Job summary

University of Texas at UT Main Campus is seeking a Procurement Officer to provide complex administrative support and manage purchasing for the Department of Integrative Biology. You will process purchase orders, manage UT Market orders, and serve as the primary vendor liaison.

The role requires attention to regulatory compliance, vehicle testing coordination, and assisting with accounting tasks. A background in MS 365 and university financial apps is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED and at least 2 years of experience.
• Excellent customer service ability.
• Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Demonstrated experience with MS 365, and other university financial applications.

Responsibilities

• Handle procurement duties for the Department of Integrative Biology, process and create purchase orders using PBO, PB3 and PB4 documents.
• Process UT Market orders through FRMS and assist lab personnel with procedures.
• Act as point of contact for all vendors and adding new vendors into the UT system as needed.
• Manage Department Procurement Card - Monitor, record, and process all procurement card purchases in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
• Settle purchasing and receiving problems and generate correspondence regarding problems and procedures.
• Liaise between the department, University Purchasing Office, Document Solutions, and vendors to fulfill procurement needs.
• Coordinate departmental vehicle driving tests and ensure driver certification.
• Assist with accounting issues such as disencumbering old purchase orders and providing supporting documents for audits.
• Conduct annual space and equipment inventories; ensure tagging and insurance where needed.
