Job summary

X-energy seeks a Procurement Engineer in Oak Ridge, TN to own the supply chain strategy for nuclear fuel programs. You will lead supplier identification, development, and qualification to meet project schedules, cost targets, and localization goals, and manage category plans and negotiations across complex programs.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science with about ten years in engineering or supply chain (two+ in supply chain) is required, plus experience with contracts and QA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science.
• Ten years of experience in engineering or supply chain with at least two years in supply chain.
• Experience developing scopes of work for services and technical and quality requirements for procurement.
• Experience with supplier negotiations.
• Experience developing project plans, schedules, and costing models.
• Experience in nuclear or other highly regulated industries.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop equipment and service suppliers to establish a robust supply chain for project goals.
• Develop strategic supply chain plans to deliver value and localization targets.
• Prepare category plans, evaluate spend and risk, and negotiate terms and conditions.
• Negotiate and establish long-term supplier agreements to meet objectives and generate revenue.
• Manage equipment and service contracts to ensure on-time delivery to schedule.
• Coordinate with QA and other units to ensure supplier compliance and proper surveillance.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues to meet contract terms and customer expectations.
• Provide leadership with junior team members and share industry best practices.
