Job summary

X Energy, LLC in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, seeks an executive‑level leader to guide TRISO‑X fuel engineering programs. You will provide strategic direction, technical authority, and executive guidance to the Vice President, Fuel Engineering, shaping long‑range plans and governance across nuclear design and manufacturing.

Based in Oak Ridge, this full‑time, on‑site role requires 5 days in the office, deep regulatory knowledge, and proven leadership across nuclear, mechanical, and electrical

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or related STEM field; advanced degree preferred.
• Twenty+ years of engineering experience.
• Ten+ years in the nuclear industry.
• Ten+ years of engineering leadership with enterprise-level impact.
• Deep knowledge of nuclear regulations, reviews, and codes.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic insight and guidance to engineering leadership for TRISO-X fuel facilities.
• Set direction for development, fabrication, and installation of manufacturing equipment.
• Lead development and integration of uranium recovery and waste processing equipment.
• Coordinate across procurement, licensing, construction, PM, and R&D for enterprise-wide alignment.
• Advise VP on program performance including schedule, cost, and risk mitigation.
• Oversee budgeting, goal setting, and workforce planning at division level.
• Provide leadership across nuclear, mechanical, I&C, and electrical disciplines.
• Report division performance to executives and key stakeholders.
• Engage with customers and partners to advance TRISO-X objectives.
