Job summary

The City of El Paso is seeking a procurement professional to manage high-level duties in purchasing commodities and services, including preparing bid documents, reviewing specifications, and overseeing contracts.

You will collaborate with departments to ensure compliance with procurement laws, evaluate proposals, and monitor supplier performance while leading a team of staff in related activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in business or public administration or related field, and 1 year of buyer experience or equivalent.
• Associate's degree and 2 years of buyer experience or related procurement experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and revise bid and RFP documents to ensure compliance with applicable statutes.
• Prepare purchase orders and place orders for goods and services.
• Develop complex technical or specialized proposals or solicitations.
• Write and evaluate specifications and invitations to bid in conjunction with requesting departments.
• Conduct bid openings and evaluate product lines, prices and sources.
• Administer and monitor complex contracts and ensure timely delivery.
