Job summary

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP is seeking a Pricing and Matter Analytics Senior Manager in Administration to lead pricing strategy, budgeting, and data integrity across engagements. You will oversee the pricing team, build budget templates, and monitor profitability for legal and consulting work.

With oversight of data governance and client financial analysis, you will support strategic pricing in response to RFPs and collaborate with stakeholders to improve engagement profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related field required. MBA a plus
• Minimum of 5 years of legal pricing experience
• Advanced Excel skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Professional Services Firm and Aderant experience a plus
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication with end users, peers and managers
• Excellent analytical skills
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects effectively
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Research pricing trends and develop pricing strategies and procedures, focusing on AI impact on legal and consulting work
• Manage the Pricing Team, including one Pricing Analyst, in daily pricing operations
• Create budget templates for specific types of legal and consulting work
• Research industry trends and utilize data to modify pricing processes
• Develop profitable, sustainable pricing solutions for clients and engagements
• Provide analysis on client financials to optimize profitability and predictability
• Support development of strategic pricing in response to client RFPs
• Assess budgets regularly and identify corrective actions
• Ensure accurate data in financial systems for engagements
• Guide Billing Partners in fee arrangement proposals
• Create and maintain monthly client matter level reporting
• Collaborate on reporting needs with business development and admin units
• Assist in presentations and forecasts with information on key engagements
• Assist in client/matter dashboards and data governance across systems
