Job summary

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP in Chicago seeks a Senior Pricing and Matter Analytics Manager to oversee budgeting, pricing, and data integrity across engagements. You will partner with firm management to develop pricing strategies and work with Practice Management Directors to ensure engagements meet profitability targets.

Lead the Pricing Team, including a Pricing Analyst, analyze client financials, monitor budgets, and create monthly dashboards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field required; MBA a plus.
Minimum 5 years of legal pricing experience.
Advanced Excel skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Professional Services Firm and Aderant experience a plus.
Exceptional interpersonal and analytical skills; ability to work with end users, peers and managers.
Self-motivated with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Research pricing trends and develop pricing strategies; focus on AI impact on legal/consulting work.
Manage Pricing Team, including Pricing Analyst, in daily operations.
Create budget templates using historical firm data.
Research industry trends to adjust pricing processes.
Develop profitable pricing solutions for clients.
Provide analysis on client financials to improve profitability and predictability.
Collaborate on pricing for RFPs and key engagements.
Monitor budgets and identify deviations.
Coordinate with client arrangements team for data accuracy in financial systems.
Guide Billing Partners in fee arrangement proposals.
Create monthly client matter dashboards and reports.
Support BD and other units with reporting needs.
