Job summary

Sonoco is seeking a Commercial Analyst to develop cost estimates for quotations, analyze pricing strategies, and drive margin improvements. This role requires 3+ years of pricing experience, strong Excel, and ERP knowledge.

You will monitor margin variances and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize profitability across multiple customers and markets. The position can be located in Hartsville, SC or Charlotte, NC, offering a path for progression within a global packaging leader.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial analyst experience.
• BS degree.
• Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
• Understanding of P&L basics.
• Ability to manage large data sets and meet deadlines.
• Pricing and mathematical modeling experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost estimates for quotations/bids using ERP and cost models.
• Develop pricing strategy by analyzing market prices, plant capacity, profitability, and raw material trends.
• Drive margin improvement initiatives and monitor variance between expected and actual margins.
• Lead design and execution of customer price change mechanisms; stay current on cost movements to adjust selling prices.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve profitability; maintain key customer relationships.
• Perform ad hoc analyses for division management while adhering to ethics and policies.
