Job summary

Sonoco Products Company is hiring a Commercial Analyst to develop cost estimates and pricing strategies using ERP systems and pricing models. You will analyze market prices, capacity, profitability, and raw material trends to support quotes and bids.

The role leads pricing changes, monitors margins, and identifies margin-improvement initiatives while maintaining strong customer relationships. Location can be Hartsville, SC or Charlotte, NC, with a progression-based level.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial analyst experience
• BS degree
• Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
• Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Understanding of P&L basics
• Data management and data analysis for pricing and margins

Responsibilities

• Develop selling prices for assigned customers and markets using data and modeling
• Lead pricing objectives and profit-improvement opportunities
• Maximize division profitability through analysis and judgment
• Oversee design and execution of price-change mechanisms
• Monitor raw material costs and manufacturing costs to adjust selling prices
• Identify margin-improvement opportunities and maintain key customer relationships
• Perform ad hoc analysis for division management
