Job summary

Discord's Payments, Fraud & Risk team drives revenue growth while protecting financial health by optimizing payments and mitigating fraud. As a Program Manager, Fraud and Payments Risk, you will lead end-to-end programs, shape fraud strategy, and enable launch-confidence for new products.

You'll own high-scale fraud detection, investigate complex cases, write SQL queries, and build dashboards to inform decisions. Collaboration across Engineering, Legal, Product and Revenue is essential.

Qualifications

• 4–5+ years of experience in payments, fraud, or risk operations.
• Deep knowledge of card networks and chargeback processes.
• Proficiency in SQL and analyzing large datasets.
• Experience building reporting workflows using BI and alerting tools.
• Ability to independently own an end-to-end function with minimal oversight.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own high-scale fraud detection and payments operations end-to-end.
• Lead complex fraud investigations and propose rule improvements.
• Write SQL queries and build dashboards to monitor performance.
• Program manage cross-functional initiatives with Engineering, Legal, Payments Strategy, Product, Revenue.
• Contribute to risk assessments for new product launches and mitigation strategies.
• Communicate business impact to stakeholders pre-, during-, and post-launch.
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge across the team.
