Job summary

SimplePractice LLC is seeking a strategic leader to own end-to-end fraud, payments underwriting, and platform-abuse controls across the customer lifecycle. You will report to the Chief Legal Officer and work closely with the CISO and Product/Engineering leadership to set direction and govern policy.

This role requires 10+ years in fraud or payments risk, strong leadership, and the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives that protect customers and the business.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in fraud, payments risk, underwriting, or financial crime, with leadership experience.
• Direct experience at payment facilitators, PSPs, or fintechs, with exposure to merchant liability and compliance.
• Ability to translate risk into product and engineering requirements and to present to executives.

Responsibilities

• Own fraud operations, underwriting, and platform-abuse controls end-to-end across the customer lifecycle.
• Define risk appetite and build a policy roadmap with auditable governance.
• Lead incident response, metrics, and reporting to executives; manage vendor strategy for risk tooling.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Security, Support, and Finance to align risk controls with business goals.
