Job summary

Zipline is seeking a PLM & Configuration Lead to define and own the configuration management framework across hardware programs, from early engineering to mass production. You will govern BOM structures, part definitions, and release baselines, partnering with Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Field Service to ensure accuracy and traceability.

You will translate business needs into functional requirements and work with software teams on tooling, while guiding Change Analysts

Qualifications

• 5+ years in engineering product configuration management or PLM.
• Governing BOM structures, part numbering, naming conventions, and revision control.
• Strong knowledge of hardware release practices and lifecycle states.
• Experience defining configuration management requirements and cross-functional adoption.

Responsibilities

• Establish and enforce BOM identification standards, part-numbering schemas, and revision control across engineering and manufacturing.
• Define multi-level BOM structures and manage relationships between engineering, manufacturing, and service BOMs.
• Set standards for BOM accuracy, revisions, alternates, effectivity, and traceability.
• Assess impact of engineering changes on component availability, supplier qualification, and inventory.
• Provide functional requirements and data structure definitions for PLM tooling.
• Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and troubleshoot delivered capabilities.
• Identify and resolve product-data integrity issues across PLM and ERP systems.
• Develop metrics and audits to reduce release errors and improve traceability.
• Set standards and guide Change Analysts on complex BOM issues.
