Job summary

ONEOK is seeking a Pipeline Control Specialist to monitor and control gas and gas liquids flow across the pipeline system. You will use SCADA to maintain safe pressures, forecast loads, and direct deliveries and injections. The role requires notifying field personnel, schedulers, and other controllers of operational instructions and changes.

DOT-related duties may apply. Experience with pipeline control, weather forecasting, and reporting is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with pipeline control functions and SCADA systems.
• Experience monitoring pressures, volumes and control points.
• Ability to apply basic mathematics and interpret forecasts.
• Knowledge of weather forecasting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, adjust and control flow of gas or liquids to maintain safe pressures and efficient operation.
• Utilize SCADA to determine load requirements and direct flow.
• Communicate instructions to field personnel and schedulers regarding system operations.
• Record and post start/stop of flows, injections, withdrawals, and other operational data.
• Respond to abnormal conditions to minimize pressure drops and ensure safety.
