Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer for the Starshield program to ensure continuity of supply for PCBs and components. You will collaborate with design, R&D, and production teams to deliver world-class products and manage supplier processes to meet aggressive schedules.

You will lead supplier qualification, PPAP/APQP flow-downs, and quality initiatives, driving cost reductions and process improvements while working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; experience in electronics manufacturing is preferred.
• Experience with PCBs, laminates, electrochemical processes, or microelectronics fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Own continuity of supply for PCBs and components on Starshield.
• Collaborate with design, R&D, commercial supply chain, hardware reliability, and production teams.
• Review supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems to strategically source parts.
• Identify, audit, and onboard new suppliers.
• Develop and implement supplier technical requirements and PPAP/APQP flow-downs.
• Implement PPAP with suppliers to enable rate production.
• Ensure qualification and reliability activities align with requirements.
• Develop process controls to manage critical characteristics.
• Recommend technical product improvements to reduce risk and defects.
• Analyze supplier quality and delivery metrics to drive improvements.
• Provide feedback on manufacturing methods to reduce costs and cycle times.
• Act as liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and suppliers.
• Lead supplier root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Present reports to internal teams, management, and suppliers.
• Own SPC, yield improvement, and tool qualification activities.
