Job summary

ADVATIX - Advanced Supply Chain and Logistics seeks a Payroll Manager to oversee all payroll functions across salaried, hourly, and grant-funded staff. The role collaborates with Finance and HR to ensure accuracy, tax compliance, and robust internal controls.

The position is located in Brooklyn, NY, with onsite/hybrid work setup. A Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of payroll experience—preferably in nonprofit or multi-site settings—are required. UKG Ready experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• 3–5 years of payroll administration experience.
• Experience with multiple funding sources or grants is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, wage and hour requirements.
• Proficiency with payroll systems; UKG Ready is preferred.
• Bookkeeping experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with high confidentiality.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work onsite/hybrid environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Willingness to work extended hours during processing periods.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for salaried, hourly, and grant-funded employees.
• Ensure payroll is accurate and on schedule in compliance with laws and policies.
• Review payroll registers, tax filings, wage payments, and related submissions.
• Maintain payroll calendars, pay periods, deadlines, and year-end requirements.
• Ensure compliance with payroll laws, wage and hour requirements.
• Oversee payroll tax filings, W-2s, 1099s, and other reports.
• Respond to payroll audits and coordinate with external auditors as needed.
• Monitor changes in payroll regulations and update processes.
• Maintain payroll systems and employee records with data accuracy and confidentiality.
• Collaborate with HR on onboarding, offboarding, and status changes.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and coordinate with Finance on GL postings.
• Support payroll system upgrades, testing, and implementation.
• Serve as primary contact for payroll inquiries.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and corrections.
• Provide guidance on pay, deductions, benefits, timekeeping, and policies.
• Develop and document payroll procedures and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll efficiency and compliance.
