Job summary

Cambridge Transcriptions is seeking a Payroll & Accounting Specialist in Portland, OR to perform professional payroll preparation and accounting duties. The role supports confidential payroll activities and ensures accurate financial reporting.

The incumbent will manage payroll data entry, reconciliation, and journal entries while collaborating with accounting staff to maintain accurate records and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with related course work in business administration, finance, or accounting.
• Requires at least three (3) years progressively responsible accounting experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Collects and audits payroll time sheets for data input to payroll.
• Verifies vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours; ensures documentation is received and approved.
• Applies Union Contract terms as they pertain to payroll issues.
• Sets up and monitors garnishments.
• Coordinates payroll processing and prepares checks for distribution.
• Prepares payroll-related journal entries and month-end reports.
• Reconciles payroll-related general ledger accounts.
• Maintains payroll records and monthly payroll checklist.
• Performs accounts payable related to payroll processing each month.
