Job summary

Sappi in Portland, ME is seeking a Payroll/AP Specialist to support the processing of all hourly and salary payrolls across company locations. The role collaborates with Corporate and Site HR, site Payroll, and employees to ensure accurate and confidential payroll processing.

The position also provides Accounts Payable support, including vendor master data updates, expense report audits, and AP administration, requiring strong accuracy and discretion in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years' payroll experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience in a union environment with 2500+ employee payroll preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll changes for hourly and non-exempt employees with accuracy.
• Coordinate with Corporate and site HR and payroll departments.
• Evaluate pay discrepancies and prepare corrections.
• Prepare and distribute routine payroll and AP reports.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws.
• Support vendor master data updates and AP audits (Concur).
