Job summary

Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP is recruiting for a Payroll Specialist in Madison, WI. You will provide direct payroll consulting, manage client relationships, and ensure accurate payroll processing within client systems.

Responsibilities include processing payrolls, preparing earnings/tax reports, and maintaining confidentiality of employee data while delivering excellent client service. A 2-year degree or equivalent experience is preferred, with strong ADP and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree preferred or 2 years experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience with ADP software platforms desirable.
• Working knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and consulting to payroll clients.
• Under the supervision of the Payroll Supervisor, independently managing client relationships and escalating issues when needed.
• Ensure client payroll information is accurate within their specific payroll system and resolve discrepancies.
• Review and/or process payrolls in a timely manner to meet deadlines, including updating employee records, bonuses, severance, and tax calculations.
• Prepare reports of employee earnings, taxes, deductions, and employer contributions.
• Establish strong and trusted client relationships by effectively consulting with clients on payroll matters.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee data.
• Convey detailed information in written and verbal form.
• Provide technical software support to clients.
• Identify and capture out of scope work and new opportunities to expand services.
• Be a resource to implementation team; manage new client implementation projects and train clients on payroll processes.
• Be a resource to new hires and share knowledge with colleagues.
