Job summary

Kids for the Future in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead engineering, installation, and service teams. You will forecast resources, manage budgets, and drive performance to meet project profit objectives while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include developing staff, enforcing policies, coordinating cross-functional activities, and building strong customer relationships with a focus on operational efficiency and growth.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of operations experience in engineering, installation, and service of building technology systems with five (5) years of management experience in operations.
• Eight (8) years’ experience of operations in the HVAC, BAS, Security or Professional Building Services industry with five (5) years management experience in operations.
• Must understand the construction and service business theory and possess industry knowledge to evaluate risk and make decisions benefiting the company.
• Must understand contract law, taxes, and construction contracts, and have basic financial and budgetary acumen.
• Must be able to manage people effectively and coordinate the total growth effort of the operations department.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff across software development, engineering, project management, installation and technical services to ensure performance.
• Forecast and track equipment, manpower, and budget requirements; monitor cost and labor performance.
• Develop and enforce operations policies; drive efficiency and reduce lead times across the value chain.
• Develop innovations to reduce expenses and improve safety and quality.
• Build and maintain relationships with customer management staff.
