Job summary

Amgen is seeking an Operational Business Management, Manager to support operational financial planning, forecasting, and workforce management within Global Development Operations. The role focuses on budget forecasting, hiring plans, and capacity planning to align with portfolio priorities and budgets.

Qualifications

• Doctorate, Master’s, Bachelor’s, or Associate/HS diploma with respective years of experience in Business Operations / Workforce & Financial Planning.
• Experience in budget planning, forecasting, variance analysis, and resource capacity management.
• Knowledge of clinical development operations, portfolio planning, and resource management processes.
• Proficiency with data visualization, reporting, and planning tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SAP, Anaplan).

Responsibilities

• Partner with GDO and cross-functional stakeholders to support budget planning, forecasting, resource management, and operational planning.
• Track and manage GDO budgets, identify cost drivers, efficiency opportunities, and variances versus plan.
• Contribute analyses to support investment prioritization, operational trade-offs, and business planning.
• Support resource capacity planning across the clinical portfolio including employees, contingent workers, and vendors.
• Manage workforce forecasts, hiring plans, and resource allocation models to meet portfolio demand.
• Monitor resource demand, staffing, and hiring progress; identify risks and gaps.
• Drive alignment between resource supply and portfolio demand in response to business needs.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure accurate budget and resource processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, forecasting accuracy, and resource utilization.
