Amgen is seeking a Strategic Planning & Operations Director for Enterprise Programs & Platforms in Los Angeles, leading the organization’s operating model and execution discipline. The role integrates teams, aligns priorities, and ensures coordinated delivery across programs and platforms.

The position requires advanced PM/strategic planning experience, with a track record in matrixed environments, budget management, and executive storytelling.

Qualifications

• Doctorate, Master’s, or Bachelor’s with equivalent PM/strategy experience.
• Minimum 3 years direct people leadership or management experience.
• Strong communication and executive storytelling skills.

Responsibilities

• Shape and evolve the EP&P operating model to improve clarity, consistency, and scalability across programs and platforms.
• Ensure alignment between strategic priorities and how work is executed across the organization.
• Partner with portfolio management and delivery teams to ensure operating mechanisms are effective and aligned.
• Provide visibility into execution performance, risks, and dependencies to support leadership decision‑making.
• Facilitate alignment across EP&P programs, platforms, and partner organizations within Technology and the business.
• Connect work across teams to ensure dependencies are understood and managed.
• Surface and help resolve cross‑functional issues related to priorities, resourcing, and execution.
• Reinforce accountability by tracking key actions, commitments, and follow‑through across leadership.
