Job summary

OpenAI seeks an experienced Occupancy Planning & Workplace Strategy Manager to lead strategic space planning for GTM and G&A. Translate growth into actionable space plans, forecast capacity, and guide decisions on how teams use space.

You'll leverage CAFM/IWMS data, partner with executives, and drive scalable planning with dashboards and automation. Hybrid role based in San Francisco, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years in occupancy planning or workplace strategy.
• Experience translating headcount into space plans and capacity scenarios.
• Hands-on expertise with CAFM/IWMS, space inventories, floor plans, and seating allocations.
• Analytical with ability to present data-driven recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own strategic occupancy planning for GTM and G&A teams.
• Develop capacity scenarios and space allocation recommendations.
• Partner with executives to align workplace strategy with business goals.
• Reconcile forecasts with Finance, People, and Operations for execution.
• Translate needs into stacking, blocking, and move plans.
• Maintain accurate space inventories and dashboards.
• Improve planning processes and enable scalable automation.
• Support workplace change initiatives with cross-functional collaboration.
