Job summary

OpenAI, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager to lead occupancy planning and workplace strategy in San Francisco.

This role drives strategic space planning for GTM and G&A, translating business needs into actionable occupancy strategies while partnering with Finance, People, Analytics, and Design & Construction to ensure scalable, data‑driven decisions. You will own planning across a complex portfolio, leveraging CAFM/IWMS systems and dashboards to improve space utilization and employee experience.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years in occupancy planning or workplace strategy
• Experience managing multi‑team portfolios
• Hands‑on CAFM/IWMS and data‑driven planning
• Strong cross‑functional stakeholder collaboration

Responsibilities

• Own strategic occupancy planning for GTM and G&A.
• Develop capacity scenarios, seating models and space allocation.
• Partner with executives to align workplace strategies with business goals.
• Reconcile forecasts with Finance, People, Analytics, and Construction.
• Translate needs into stacking, blocking and move plans.
• Maintain accurate space inventories and floor plans via CAFM/IWMS.
• Identify data discrepancies and drive data reliability improvements.
• Develop dashboards and reporting for occupancy trends and risks.
• Drive continuous improvement in planning processes and automation.
• Support workplace change initiatives across teams.
