Job summary

The ADON has administrative authority and assists the Director of Nursing in the overall operation of the Nursing Service department, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations. The role oversees resident care on shift and collaborates with nursing staff to implement policies that promote high-quality geriatric care.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Pennsylvania or with reciprocal agreement.
• Associate degree in Nursing.
• Minimum four years nursing experience, including at least one year in long-term care and two years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DON in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing the Nursing Service department.
• Plan and conduct conferences with administration and staff to formulate policies and procedures.
• Review and maintain department policies and job descriptions; suggest changes as needed.
• Develop good working rapport with interdepartmental staff and external partners.
• Assess continuing education needs within the Nursing Department and coordinate with the DON.
