Job summary

Meals on Wheels of Southwest OH & Northern KY is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting function in our Finance Department. The role oversees AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, general ledger, and reporting, while supervising three accounting staff and ensuring GAAP compliance.

Ideal candidates have a CPA, 5+ years in nonprofit accounting, strong Excel and Sage Intacct experience, and the ability to communicate effectively with leadership and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA is required.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting and management experience; nonprofit experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP. Familiarity with Uniform Guidance a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Sage Intacct and Paycom.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills for internal and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, billing, GL, and reconciliations.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff and foster collaboration.
• Lead month-end close and ensure GAAP compliance for financial statements.
• Assist with grant applications, reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance.
