Job summary

United Food Bank is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead the finance team and strengthen our financial foundation across Arizona. You will oversee general ledger, month-end closes, and financial reporting for the organization and its subsidiary while supporting the CFO on internal controls and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 5+ years in non-profit accounting with grants, restricted funds, and audits.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Accounting or equivalent.
• 5+ years of non-profit accounting experience, including restricted funds and grants.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to work with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and month-end close.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Manage general ledger, cash, investments, and fixed assets; support audit preparation.
• Ensure compliance with IRS, funder, and regulatory requirements; strengthen internal controls.
• Oversee grant accounting, budgets, and program allocations.
