Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in marketing, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of sales experience in the metals service center industry or similar industrial sales background.
• Proficiency with MS Office; SAP and Salesforce.com experience are highly desired.
• Strong business acumen with excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills; persuasive negotiation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Quickly builds strong relationships with contacts at all levels, especially purchasing decision makers.
• Works with inside sales, credit center, inventory managers and other departments to meet objectives.
• Provides market intelligence to shape service center sales strategies, prices, and working capital decisions.
• Increases revenue from assigned customers by selling value-added services and programs.
• Manages customer accounts, including margin analysis and quality improvement initiatives.
• Develops and implements sales programs while promoting Ryerson’s E-Commerce capabilities.
• Maintains daily call planning to keep customers informed about industry trends and Ryerson support.
• All other duties as assigned or changed as needed.
