The Outside Account Manager will nurture and expand transactional business by building strong relationships with current and past customers in the assigned market, collaborating with internal teams to drive growth and deliver exceptional service.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of sales experience in metals or related industries, strong communication and negotiation skills, and proficiency with MS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or related experience in marketing, business or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience in metals service center or industrial sales.
• Proficiency with MS Office; SAP and Salesforce.com experience highly desired.
• Strong business acumen with excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Persuasive negotiation skills and ability to work in team or independently.
• Confidentiality, problem-solving and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with contacts at various levels, especially purchasing decision makers.
• Collaborate with inside sales, credit center, inventory managers and other departments.
• Monitor competitive environment and provide market intelligence to shape strategies.
• Increase revenue by selling value-added services and growing transactional business.
• Manage customer accounts, including margin analysis and quality initiatives.
• Develop and implement sales programs while promoting E-Commerce capabilities.
• Maintain daily call planning to keep customers informed about industry trends.
• Other duties as assigned.
