Job summary

Direct Start is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to prepare estimates and proposals for a variety of construction projects. You will assemble material and labor costs, quantities, and unit costs to develop lump sum bids and proposals from start to finish.

You will interface with clients, procurement, subcontractors, and operations to ensure accurate estimates, review plans for risk, and present clear bid packages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 3+ years of direct project estimating experience.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Quotesoft, Accubid, Oracle, and PowerBI preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present lump sum bids, unit costs, and quantities.
• Consult with clients, procurement, subcontractors to discuss estimates.
• Analyze historical data to improve estimating procedures.
• Review plans and specs for risk and compliance.
• Develop project summary schedules and bid packages.
• Ensure estimating methodology compliance.
