Job summary

Habasit America is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to plan, purchase, and schedule materials for manufacturing needs. The role emphasizes MRP/ERP accuracy, supplier relations, and cost control while ensuring timely delivery and data integrity.

You will collaborate with Customer Care, Production, and Logistics to optimize material flow, monitor supplier performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• College degree required.
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and comprehension).

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and process purchase orders to support manufacturing and inventory requirements.
• Maintain accurate MRP and ERP data, including purchase orders, pricing, and supplier information.
• Analyze sales history, forecasts, and safety stock levels to maintain optimal inventory availability.
• Plan material purchases based on lead times and production needs using MRP/ERP reports.
• Control inventory levels to meet service and cost targets.
• Communicate with suppliers to confirm delivery dates and resolve issues.
• Coordinate with Customer Care, Production, and Logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Monitor on-time delivery performance and take corrective action when needed.
• Identify and evaluate alternate suppliers to ensure supply continuity and cost efficiency.
• Support supplier business reviews and sourcing initiatives.
