Job summary

Ultimate Staffing Services is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Buyer/Planner to support material planning, purchasing, and inventory management. You will ensure materials meet production schedules and customer demands while maintaining cost-effective purchasing practices.

The role requires experience with MRP, ERP systems, and supplier negotiations, with a focus on accurate data, supplier performance, and cross-functional collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of purchasing, planning, procurement, or supply chain experience.
• Experience with MRP and inventory management processes.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Ability to analyze demand, inventory, and cost data.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and purchase materials based on forecasts, customer demand, and MRP requirements.
• Monitor inventory levels and adjust purchasing activities to support production schedules.
• Create, revise, and manage purchase orders.
• Follow up with suppliers on order confirmations, delivery dates, and material availability.
• Expedite or reschedule orders as needed.
• Resolve supplier issues including shortages, delays, quality concerns, and shipment discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate data within the ERP/MRP system, including pricing, lead times, and order status.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, freight terms, and supplier agreements.
• Evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Collaborate with Production, Logistics, Quality, Sales, and Finance teams to support business objectives.
• Assist with cost analysis, standard costing updates, and landed cost reviews.
