Job summary

CesiumAstro, a leader in satellite communication systems, seeks a Senior Material Planner in Westminster, MD. You will develop integrated material plans, balance supply and demand, and ensure material availability to meet production schedules and customer commitments.

You will collaborate across supply chain, operations, engineering, program management, manufacturing, quality, and finance to optimize inventory, mitigate risks, and drive planning improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of material planning, production planning, inventory management and supply chain principles.
• Experience with MRP, demand planning, inventory optimization, production scheduling and supply planning methodologies.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and business reporting tools.
• Analytical mindset with ability to evaluate inventory performance and risks.
• Excellent organizational and multi-priority management skills.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with BI tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrated material plans aligned with production schedules and delivery requirements.
• Analyze material requirements, inventory levels, forecasts, and supply commitments.
• Identify shortages and constraints; implement corrective actions.
• Support planning for new product introductions, engineering changes, and production transitions.
• Coordinate with operations and manufacturing for material readiness.
• Communicate shortages and recovery plans to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with suppliers and supply chain teams to improve performance.
• Maintain planning data, reports, and metrics.
• Drive process improvements in planning and inventory management.
