Job summary

Amcor is seeking a seasoned engineer to manage complex capital projects focused on PET preforms and rigid containers. Lead multi-site initiatives from conception to qualification, ensuring productivity, timing and budget adherence while supporting site productivity and cost-reduction programs.

You will review product manufacturability, create BOMs, and collaborate with regional leaders to implement robust plans that meet safety and environmental standards. Travel ~60% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Seven+ years engineering experience in plastics packaging, with seven years in project management.
• Experience managing multiple resources and complex projects.
• Strong interpersonal, management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with on-site manufacturing opportunities and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support capital appropriation.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements are included in project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into actionable implementation plans meeting cost and timing targets.
• Review plant infrastructure and equipment against project requirements; plan upgrades.
• Evaluate performance and cost of equipment, tooling and workflows; assess vendors.
• Publish weekly status reports on project progress and issues.
• Create and maintain division-level technical specifications and standards for Operations Engineering.
• Regularly communicate with plants to understand long-term project performance.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Travel approximately 60%.
