Job summary

Amcor looks to hire a Senior Project Manager to oversee capital projects in PET preforms and rigid containers, coordinating across multiple sites from concept to qualification while ensuring productivity, timing and budget goals.

The role emphasizes safety and environmental compliance and requires refining feasibility studies with input from Regional Directors, Plant Managers, and resources, driving upgrades, cost analyses, and vendor evaluations. Travel ~60% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Minimum of seven years professional engineering experience in plastics packaging with seven years in project management.
• Strong interpersonal, management, and communication skills.
• Experience managing direct reports.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience evaluating on-site manufacturing opportunities and managing projects from concept to completion.
• Experience with SPC.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements are included in project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into actionable plans meeting cost and timing criteria.
• Review plant infrastructure and equipment against project requirements.
• Develop plans for upgrades and expansion.
• Analyze cost and performance of equipment, tooling, and workflow.
• Publish weekly project status reports and track issues.
• Communicate with plants to understand long-term project performance and resolve issues.
