Job summary

Amcor is seeking a seasoned Capital Projects Manager to oversee PET preforms and rigid container manufacturing projects across multiple sites. You will review new products from a manufacturing perspective and manage scope, budget, and timing from conception to qualification.

You will lead material creation, feasibility studies, plant infrastructure reviews, and oversee upgrades while driving productivity and cost reduction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Minimum of seven years professional engineering experience in the plastics packaging industry, including seven years of project management.
• Knowledge of plant layouts and infrastructure equipment.
• Experience managing multiple resources and complex projects.
• Strong interpersonal, management, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with SPC.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure that corporate safety and environmental requirements are incorporated into the project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies, with input from Regional Directors, Plant Managers and Plant resources, into a mutually acceptable action implementation plan.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment against project requirements; develop and manage upgrades.
• Analyze and evaluate the performance and cost of new, proposed or existing equipment.
• Communicate and resolve technical, timing and budgetary issues related to projects; publish weekly status reports.
• Create and maintain division level technical specifications, standards and documentation for Operations Engineering.
• Travel ~60%.
