The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 4+ years in manufacturing

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment purchasing industrial components.
• Lean Manufacturing experience.
• Experience with “in-direct” materials and related purchasing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Seek out suppliers and obtain price quotations, specifications, and samples as required.
• Process requisitions online with established quality and quantity requirements.
• Follow up on outstanding orders and expedite materials to meet customer demand.
• Apply knowledge of vendor sources and assess material delivery possibilities.
• Develop and implement economical procurement plans to ensure continuous production.
• Negotiate with vendors to obtain favorable price and delivery terms.
• Maintain inventory levels to meet market forecast and MRP requirements.
• Communicate daily with vendors, plant personnel and corporate contacts.
• Maintain documentation and resolve vendor invoice issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration or closely related field
