Job summary

Emerson in Houston is seeking a Production Planning professional to manage the Master Production Schedule and optimize the flow of work orders through the manufacturing lifecycle.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing or supply chain, strong MRP/BOM experience, and proficiency with Excel. You will collaborate with Engineering, Customer Care, and operations to ensure on-time delivery and material availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of manufacturing, production planning, materials planning, scheduling, or supply chain experience.
• Strong knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
• Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and inventory transactions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and execute the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
• Review and release work orders according to priorities and schedule requirements.
• Validate work order readiness, including BOM accuracy, routing accuracy, material availability, and subassemblies.
• Coordinate with Customer Care, Engineering, and customers to resolve discrepancies.
• Identify material substitutions with Engineering when shortages occur.
• Monitor work orders through production lifecycle from release to shipment.
• Address aging WIP, identifying root causes and driving corrective actions.
• Balance material availability, labor capacity, and production priorities with manufacturing leadership.
• Verify material issues, completions, backflushes, and inventory movements before closing orders.
• Communicate production priorities, shortages, risks, and recovery plans to stakeholders.
• Interact with plant and corporate personnel at all levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned and work overtime as required.
