Job summary

UCI Health, the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine, seeks a Collections/Billing Representative for the Physicians Billing Group. You will handle billing edits, collections, and customer service actions to resolve accounts, applying Medicare, Medi-Cal, MSI, Champus, and commercial payer guidelines.

Strong English communication and a track record in medical billing are required. The role emphasizes accurate billing, timely collections, and collaboration with departments

Qualifications

• Experience in medical professional fee billing with Medicare, Medi-Cal (and affiliates), and commercial carriers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to review patient accounts to bill and collect revenue for services rendered.
• Ability to maintain a steady pace and meet monthly productivity standards.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Responsibilities

• Billing editing error reports prior to claims submission to ensure clean bills.
• Collecting on insurance invoices/accounts using worklists and aging reports.
• Follow-up on accounts receivable and respond to correspondence.
• Apply knowledge of payer guidelines for Medicare, Medi-Cal, MSI, Champus and commercial plans.
