Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Maintenance Planner for its Plywood facility in Prosperity, South Carolina. The role focuses on proactive planning to improve reliability, productivity, and work quality by coordinating labor, parts, tools, and safety requirements for upcoming maintenance down-days and outages.

You will build detailed work plans, review CMMS work orders, and collaborate with maintenance teams and suppliers to ensure timely parts, safe operations, and value-driven maintenance spend.

Qualifications

• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with CMMS (MP2 or SAP).
• Experience planning and scheduling maintenance for down-days and mill outages.
• Experience developing detailed maintenance job plans and coordinating scope, resources, materials, tools, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate, detailed job plans defining scope, steps, labor, materials, tools, safety requirements and permits.
• Review CMMS work orders to identify those needing formal planning and ensure proper workflow before scheduling.
• Use critical thinking to ensure maintenance spend creates long-term value for the product system and mill.
• Build work order packages well in advance to support two-week or longer schedules and outage planning.
• Identify material requirements, enter material requests, maintain BOMs, and verify parts on time.
• Prioritize backlog by safety, risk, value, and parts availability; manage planning statuses.
• Participate in weekly backlog, planning, and scheduling meetings to align priorities.
• Review completed work and PM feedback to assess plan effectiveness and initiate corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Scheduler, Materials, Purchasing, Reliability, and contractors.
• Demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and safe, independent or team work.
