Job summary

Republic Services Area Director, Business Development leads market strategy and integrated market planning across the company’s North American footprint. You drive strategic development through acquisitions, divestitures, privatizations and organic growth, collaborating with Market, Area, and Corporate teams to win in the market.

The role requires managing complex projects, evaluating capital opportunities over $5 million, and guiding cross-functional teams to deliver timely, cost-effective

Qualifications

• Experience in strategy, project, infrastructure and/or real estate development.
• Minimum of 5 years of general business experience, preferably in a capital intensive industry.
• Ability to read, interpret, and prepare financial reports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Develops and drives market strategies to improve financial performance of markets.
• Responsible for financial and capital investment analysis of business development transactions, including acquisitions and divestitures of non-strategic assets.
• Evaluates business justification for development of new solid waste infrastructure projects, and leads projects through the development cycle.
