Job summary

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics is hiring an Operations Manager in USA - Chester, VA. The role oversees day-to-day site operations, warehousing, inbound/outbound planning, and staff leadership, ensuring safety, quality, and cost objectives are met.

Full-time position with a strong emphasis on training, performance management, and client KPI adherence. The ideal candidate has 7 years in logistics, with 5 years in a supervisory role, and a diploma (Bachelor's preferred).

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• 7 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
• 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
• Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months.

Responsibilities

• Develop systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products in a safe and profitable manner.
• Meet prescribed productivity and service goals; comply with client KPIs and Quality requirements.
• Drive Continuous Improvement efforts and suggest cost-saving measures.
• Plan daily work schedules, review orders, and assign duties to warehouse staff.
• Collaborate with HR on hiring, training and performance evaluation processes.
• Ensure leadership team trains staff and maintains SOP adherence.
